This Privacy Policy explains how FindRestAreas.com ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and shares information when you visit https://findrestareas.com (the "Site").
1. Who we are
The Site is operated by the owner of findrestareas.com ("Operator"), based in Poland. The Operator is the data controller for personal data processed through the Site.

Because the Operator is established in the European Union, we process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We also honor the privacy rights of U.S. residents under applicable state laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (CCPA).
2. Information we collect
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our servers and third-party services receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit.
Information you provide. If you contact us, we receive your email address and the content of your message.
Cookies and similar technologies. See Section 5.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data, and we do not require you to create an account.

4. Third parties we share information with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information with the following service providers and partners:
- Google Analytics (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd.) – website usage statistics. See https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Privacy & Messaging (Funding Choices) – collecting and storing your consent choices.
- Google Fonts – delivering fonts; your IP address is sent to Google when fonts load.
- Rakuten Advertising, Awin and their advertisers – some links on the Site are affiliate links (see Section 6). When you click one, the affiliate network (Rakuten Advertising or Awin) and the advertiser may set cookies or use similar technologies to attribute a purchase or sign-up to our Site. - Hosting provider – our hosting provider, which stores the Site and server logs on our behalf.
- Authorities – where required by law.
Under the CCPA, the use of analytics and affiliate tracking cookies may be considered "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out as described in Section 8.

Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before non-essential cookies are used. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the "Privacy and cookie settings" link in the Site footer, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
6. Affiliate disclosure
Some links on the Site are affiliate links. If you click such a link and then make a purchase or sign up, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This does not influence the information we publish about rest areas.
7. International transfers
Some providers (in particular Google) process data in the United States and other countries. Where personal data from the EEA is transferred outside the EEA, transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
8. Your rights
EEA/UK residents have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of their personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing). You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Poland this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, https://uodo.gov.pl.
U.S. residents (including California) have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To opt out, use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" option in the privacy settings in the Site footer, or enable a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we treat as a valid opt-out request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your request and will respond within the time limits required by law (generally 30 days under GDPR and 45 days under the CCPA).
9. Data retention
- Server logs: up to 90 days.
- Contact messages: as long as needed to handle them, and no longer than 24 months.
- Cookies: as listed in Section 5.
10. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed.
